Best AI essay writer tools for 2026

Hi guys,

I've read a thread here in this Subreddit which is oviously not up-to-date anymore, so I am creating a new workflow here.

My usual way to write an essay is the following:

- I use Claude to get my idea's written out, which basically means I put a few sentences about thoughts, super messy and let it structure it.

From there on I check back with the requirements and search for sources. This is very important and actually impact's the quality of your essay a lot.

- From there on I put the sources back to Claude and in the end let it write a summary to give it to a specialized agent/software.

The summary I just put into. From there on I basically go through and do some minor edits.

Feel free to PN if you've got questions.

What's the best way to bypass Pangrams new AI Detection model "Pangram-4"

Which AI Humanizer model works best, as they claiming

>When evaluated against 13 popular commercial humanizers, Pangram 4 identifies AI involvement in humanized AI text 98.83% of the time.

and also

>On our benchmarks, Pangram 4 correctly identifies 99.66% of AI-generated documents while flagging human writing as AI only 0.0041% of the time, or roughly one false positive for every 24,000 documents.

which is actually a insane result.

The most reliable AI Detector after seeing many sideprojects

Hi guys,

I see sideprojects rising in the AI Detector space. I wonder how many of them are actually legit. It's not as easy as just prompting an LLM of OpenAI to say if text was AI generated or not.

It's basically a classification task which doesn't even make sense with LLMs!!

So I tested a few of them, mostly with ChatGPT generated images and text. I also used Gemini to generate AI text.

What stood out is, that most of the tools did catch truely human generated text, but flagged AI generated text as human.

WasItAIGenerated.com was overall the best tool also for images. It had it's difficulties with real and old photos, but overall the best results especially in AI generated essay detection.

GPTZero.me is great for AI generated text, even tho it flags stuff to hard. I pasted human generated text (from papers back in 2015, and they got flagged as AI).

Rephrasy.ai is a solid tool but I think their AI Humanizer is their real flagship.

Undetectable.ai Good but overhyped imo, their free image Detection wasn't working and the text detection also had some false positives.

ZeroGPT.com is was very good especially because I used it for free. But the newer LLMs (I use GPT 5.5 for instance), are tricking the Detector a lot. Probably their internal classification model is too old and not up to date.

My personal conslusion is that there are lot's of projects but not many legit. So I was wondering if you guys are building something like this and what's the secret sauce you have (as simply prompting an LLM to classify doesn't work.)
