Amazon SDE New Grad Application - Rejected before OA, but still completed the assessment. What should I do?

I’m in a confusing situation with my Amazon new grad application and was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.
I applied for the Software Development Engineer - 2026 (US) role back in February. After several months without any updates, I finally received an email saying that I would be receiving an Online Assessment.
However, just a couple of hours after receiving that email, my application status changed to “No Longer Under Consideration,” and I also received a rejection email. Since this seemed unusual, I emailed the recruiter asking whether the rejection was a mistake or if I should still complete the assessment.
I didn’t receive any response, so after waiting for some time, I decided to go ahead and complete the Online Assessment anyway. I also followed up with the recruiter afterward, explaining that I had completed it and asking for clarification on my application status.
It’s now been a while, and I still haven’t received any response or update from the recruiter. My application continues to show that it’s no longer under consideration.
Has anyone experienced something like this before? Is it possible that the rejection was sent automatically by mistake, or does completing the OA after receiving a rejection not make any difference?
At this point, is there anything else I can do besides waiting? Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.
