Faculty quitting instead of…
Just saw this story - Texas A & M faculty quitting when told they’d have to be on campus 5 days a week, 8 hours a day.
Not Fluent in Cat…Should I…?
Like, is there any aspect of this Cat that does not scream, “ohhhhhh, you should fluff my belly hairs”? 🤷🏻♀️
Maybe not a rant or vent, but I realized today that I’m a little sad that the undergrads I’ve worked most closely with (for several years) did not even manage a ‘thanks’ at the formal end of our work together. This isn’t just that they took a class with me. This was years of advising, coaching, mentoring, and collaborating on a huge project. Sometimes I’m able to slough off this kind of thing - they’re young, they are busy - but I have young busy undergrads for a long time. And previous students managed a “thanks,” or an email, or a card or occasionally, a gift (strange but…), sometimes a party (also strange but…). Been working on lowering my secret hopes around this one word - thanks. Onward to what’s next, in any case.
