They Played Acid Bath at My Uncle's Funeral

Yesterday I went to my uncles funeral and given I didn't know him that much, didn't really think this funeral would have been that sentimental to me (no disrespect of course). He died from complications relating to an accident he had the week before. Anyway during a funeral there's always some music that's played that the person requested or would've wanted to play at their funeral. Now me being a massive fan of Acid Bath I had no clue whether he was into them given well— I had only met him a couple times when I was very young (I'm 18 currently).

I was sat down on the rows of chairs that were laid out outside and after they did the beginning service, I literally got goosebumps once New Death Sensation started playing. At first I thought it might've been a different song but once I heard the vocals come into the first 20 seconds I was like "holy shit he's actually got acid bath playing at his funeral".

It's definitely a unique choice of song to use given it's meaning but I though it was hauntingly beautiful to listen to at a funeral like this outside in the rain and shit. A couple hours ago my sister asked me how weird the music was and said it was kinda eerie and ghostly. All I can say now is I wish I could've met him before he died to at least relate to his interests and music taste.

Anyway I thought it was worth mentioning here because of how much of a bizarre coincidence it was, love you guys!

Advice for Friend

*sigh* so our friendgroup has a friend whom has had rapid balding for the best part of his youth since he was 16- now 18 he's buzzed it twice, grown it out and nothing seems to work, except him wanting to grow a fringe out.

i want all of your advice for him because the rest of us think he should shave it all off- knowing it'll suit him better than it is now. i care about him because well- he's been my friend for the best part of my life since i was 11 years old. anyway much love and i'll refer everything back to him!

i myself don't experience any balding, besides the fact my dad lost all his hair at 20. so i resonate with him knowing what my dad went through- saying he embraced it.

Weezer & Pinkerton: I listened to both for the first time!

I- I’m honestly lost for words. I was bored the following night yesterday and decided to listened to blue album for the first time— I had heard songs like Say It Ain’t So and Buddy Holly (who hasn’t obviously) and it was actually the Saturday last week where I heard my dad listening to Weezer and jamming out to it. We’re both metal heads who love all types of genres.

So anyway I was feeling pretty emotional the night before so I played the entire blue album and holy moly that shit was beautiful. I felt like I was in trance half the time listening to each bass line, riff and chorus. It actually put me on the verge of tearing up every minute just taking in everything— I couldn’t help but clench my eyes and say to myself “holy moly how— how is this so good??!?”.

After I pretty much couldn’t sleep so I decided to listen to Pinkerton and that was even crazier— hit me even harder than the first album. Each song is so polarising and good it feels illegal. I found myself like the first album noticing I enjoy a lot of the more less listened tracks (by online listen standards— i’m sure all of you like them) like Across the Sea and Tired of Sex. Going back to the blue album songs like Only in Dreams and Holiday were like so frickin good too AGHHH!!

Soo— uh yeah the albums were that good I had to let it all out on here to you guys because my friends won’t take a weezer song seriously. Much love and this band is awesome sauce.
