I’ve watched numerous interviews and public interactions of South Indian film stars (Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam) over the years, but Vijay Deverakonda (VD) stands out as the most arrogant and punchable offscreen persona I’ve seen in a long time.
What exactly is his appeal? And why does he feel entitled to believe that he’s a big star like Jr NTR or Vijay (the TN Chief Minister)?
My mom is 65 and has been having pain on her left thigh whenever she walks.
She was diagnosed with GBS a few months back and has recovered(but has been having this pain over the past week)
The surgeon(maybe we made a mistake going to the surgeon to begin with) says L5-S1, L1 lytic listhesis with left radiculopathy and T12 fracture

What is the actual point of SIP in Indian index funds and mutual funds? Over the last 2 years, returns have been near zero in INR and outright negative in USD terms after rupee depreciation. In the same window, dozens of bottle neck stocks in the US like Micron, Sandisk,Bloom Energy, Lumentum delivered 10x. These aren’t obscure nano caps, they were fully covered, billion-dollar companies with huge liquidity even before their run up.Decade long returns in 12-18 months. No one doing an SIP is beating an investor who had a basket of AI stocks in their portfolio during this run, in their lifetime.
What exactly is SIP in India solving for, and for whom does it still make sense?
Dozens of AI infrastructure stocks like NVDA, Micron, Sandisk, LITE and friends have done 8-10x over the past 2 years. NRI net worths i would think have potentially moved well past the 1 million usd FIRE number that was being set as a benchmark a few years ago.
But does this collectively raise the FIRE number for all NRIs(who weren’t positioned with large sizing on these AI stocks) from what most people anchored at $1M(9-10 crores) a few years ago to probably $2M/3M(20-30 crores) now since everyone chasing the same Chennai/Bangalore retirement lifestyle suddenly has more dollars, doesn’t that just reprice the target?
And does this spill over to India based FIRE chasers too? A wealthier returning NRI crowd should inflate FIRE numbers through real estate and lifestyle benchmark creep in India I would think?
