The condenser coils on my Goodman were too tall, preventing me from reaching the bottom of the compressor to secure a blanket. Asked my daughter for her help since she’s flexible. Her solution was brilliant.

We recently purchased this home here in Southern California. All the filters were removed before purchasing. Home is 5 years old and had a lot of neglected maintenance. When replacing the standard 24”X36”X3” MERV 13 filter, I saw a trapdoor hanging open with slots that measure 12”X12”X3”. I went into the attic and found the home has a ATMO Fantech ERV. The ducting shows this trapdoor is to hold a filter for the outside air before going to the ERV. However, I can only find 12X12X1” filters which flop around. I see 3” filters on Amazon but they have a lip on them and don’t seem correct for the slots I have. Is there a standard box/slot filter that will fit inside this trapdoor?
