25F earning ₹1.6L/month, but still feel like I’m doing something wrong with my investments

Hi everyone,

I’m 25F, currently earning around ₹1.6 lakh/month, and I’m looking for some honest advice on whether I’m managing/investing my money correctly.

I have a goal of reaching ₹1 crore by the age of 30, but I’m honestly not sure whether my current strategy is efficient enough or if I’m missing something.

My current monthly allocation:
₹32,000 → Mutual funds/SIPs
₹20,000 → Gold
₹10,000 → RD
₹16,000 → FD
₹20,000 → Send to family
₹30,000–35,000 → Monthly expenses (rent, food, travel, shopping, etc.)

After all of this, I still have some amount left each month, but I’m not sure where I should put it or how I should structure my overall portfolio.

My main goal
I want to reach ₹1 crore by age 30.
I have roughly 5 years, so I’d really like to understand:
Am I investing too conservatively?

How much should ideally be invested every month to reach ₹1 Cr in 5 years?

What would you change if you were in my situation?

My current investments
As of now, I have roughly:
₹6 lakh → Mutual funds
₹40,000 → Direct stocks
₹1.5 lakh → Gold
₹1.7 lakh → RD
₹2 lakh → FD
₹1.3 lakh/year → LIC policy

Short-term requirement
I’m also planning to make a few big purchases in the near future , around ₹1.5 lakh total for a phone/watch and other things.
So I’m also looking for suggestions for short-term investments (6–18 months) where I can park money without taking too much risk.

I’m open to changing my current strategy completely if it makes sense.

Would really appreciate practical advice from people who have experience with investing in India. Please feel free to point out where I’m going wrong rather than just recommending products.
Thanks!
