Customizable Ocarina of Time Anki Deck!

おはようございます!

Japanese teacher here!

In anticipation of the upcoming remake, I have created an Ocarina of Time Anki deck including the most frequently used vocab (1000), grammar (100), and all kanji (892) found in the original N64 game with example sentences from the game, organized by frequency. I understand how hard it is to get into native material at the lower levels, so I have made tools to be able to customize your deck to match your level of Japanese and focus on the most commonly used pieces of language.

Over the next month, I will also be doing a full playthrough of the entire game in Japanese on my channel. We break down common and interesting vocab and grammar and discuss interesting differences between the English version. Questions are allowed and encouraged both during the livestreams and in the comments section. We will be streaming every Wednesday evening (US). This game is considered to be one of the easier games when it comes to the language used, so I am excited to help you through it!

Both of these are available completely free, but I would love any feedback you have to improve!

Videos and Community For Getting Into Native Material!

諸君、おはようございます!

Have the basics of Japanese down but still intimidated by native Japanese content?

I am a Japanese teacher/private tutor who runs a Youtube channel called “Toriaezu Nihongo.”
https://www.youtube.com/@とりあえずにほんご

I originally started it as a way to help my students get started reading, listening, and speaking in between classes, but it has slowly evolved from that into its own thing!

The concept of the channel is found in the name, “Toriaezu Nihongo.” I want to help learners enjoy the process of getting into Japanese material without being intimidated.

There is a lot on the channel for beginner and intermediate learners, and more and more will be released for advanced learners as well.

Things I am currently running on the channel:

(Nearly) daily uploads of NHK Easy News articles breaking down and explaining grammar and vocab in detail.

Wednesday (Input/Grammar) Live streams:
Playing through video games in Japanese (currently running through Yakuza 0).

Thursday (Output) Live streams:
Playing games with viewers and students as a simple way to get started with Japanese output. No required minimum level! The idea is to be using as much Japanese as possible, but questions are absolutely encouraged. We will teach you anything you need to know to participate in each game!

I would love to hear your feedback on how I can make the channel a great resource for getting into native content.
For now, I am pretty much a one-man team that is very new to the space, so any constructive criticism is much appreciated!

Hope to see you there!
お待ちしています!
