Poverty mindset

whats up you guys. i was listening to aj pasciuti on shawn ryan show talk about going into the military with a poverty mindset and how it can lead into negative characteristics and a/more of an addictive personality if left unchecked.

I want to know if the military as a whole is a good environment to get away from the poverty, unruly violence and specifically the negativity. Furthermore ive been putting all of my chips into making it into group and I want to know how much my age combined with my personality/upbringing could make a difference in how im perceived or if it could even be a determining factor in my success.

Im turning 18 here soon and as far as personality, this is all subjective but i believe that ive got very good people skills, im tenacious, i stay very calm under pressure and i do everything i can to be a teamplayer (however i have limited reps) but i talk "ghetto", im usually pessimistic when i am out of control and im not very trusting of others.

I would love to pick anyones brain who could give me their two cents of knowledge and or learned experience so that i can apply it.

Thank you all, keep getting at it!
