Need Advice (Undergrad Recruitment)
Rising sophomore at Cornell University (grad 2029). I’m at the ILR School so I study ILR. So, this whole freshman year, I haven’t been able to join a club bc I didn’t apply first semester and 2nd semester I couldn’t get in anywhere. However, I have started networking and coffee chatting albeit not too frequently. I’ve managed 4 coffee chats with like 25 emails. Not the best numbers. Tried re emailing some of them but I follow the rule that one follow up is enough. Anyhow, I haven’t been able to find anything to do this summer, so I’ll be going into my sophomore summer w no experience. I’ll likely get an on campus job ofc but I’m worried about sophomore summer and junior summer. I’m worried about clubs. I’m worried about networking. Also, do you guys think that joining a fraternity could help my odds at networking and getting referrals and internships easier? Especially since my gpa is on the lower end. Any and all advice is helpful!!
