Turkish football is going through a new scandal, and the main figure is Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson, who has found himself at the center of a fierce dispute with the fans and the management of his current club.
The keeper exploded after receiving insults aimed at his family and left a statement that fueled the conflict even more: he said he will not leave the institution until he is paid the full amount of his contract.
"I can't forget the insults toward my wife and my children. I have a salary of 22 million until 2028. I will not terminate with Fenerbahce until I collect every last bit of it," he told the press.
The tension had been building for weeks because of the team's poor run of form and the supporters' criticism, but everything reportedly escalated when part of the ultras began verbally attacking his relatives.
That was when the Brazilian took a firm stance in front of the club's directors: he refused to negotiate an early exit and demanded that all the agreed financial terms be respected.
