We moved into this flat 6 months ago and about a month ago we saw our first mouse. We informed the agent straight away and they sent someone to have a look. I have a home camera and I can see it is coming from under the kitchen radiator. Very hard to access that area. the builder said we would need to dismantle the radiator and close the gap. We would also need to check behind all appliances, the cupboards with some pipes coming from the flat below etc. A good 1 or 2 days worth of work.
Meanwhile, they have provided some sonic repellers, i have set some traps with different baits, metal mesh in all visible holes, menthol oil, everything we could think of. nothing works. The mouse would just walk past the sonic repeller and avoid the traps like it knows what they are.
The landlord was provided with the quote but no reaction. I have been chasing the agent regularly and all they say they are waiting for the landlord.
I have called the council health and env team. they asked me to send an email and would get back to me within 5 days. i feel like they will do nothing
What else can I do? we have a young son and i am worried about the nasty diseases mice can carry.
