Series 66 Advice
I need advice regarding the Series 66. I am currently studying for the 66, and today I took the Kaplan midterm and scored a 67% after over a month of reviewing and doing simulated practice tests like the midterm, where I had been scoring in the 78–85 range and making flashcards based on the book, which ones I struggled with. I’m looking for advice on what to do next—since I scored low on the midterm, should I continue on to the other half of the book, or should I take a few days or even a week to review? This test is very frustrating ! My current methodology involves using the Kaplan 12th edition, which I have been studying for about 8 months. This includes reading the book, taking in-depth notes, watching Tineys videos, and taking notes on those as well, completing all the practice questions for each chapter with scores above 85% to ensure understanding, and then taking the chapter tests. Am I doing something wrong? I’ve also been looking into TestGeek after finishing the content. Is there something I’m missing, or am I getting too deep into the weeds? Sometimes I feel like everything is important. The SIE took me roughly 4 months to complete and did the same method I am doing here, and I’m now doing the 66 since I do not currently work for a firm or have my 7 yet.
I just want to know any advice that anyone has to be able to pass the darn test? I know everyone is different, but this is like a gut punch and sets me back.
