Canyon Grizl 8 1by – best upgrades for comfort on gravel?
Hey all,
I have a Canyon Grizl 8 AL 1by and I’ve started riding it more this year. I’m noticing some harshness on rough gravel and looking to improve comfort.
Current setup:
- 45 mm tires with tubes
- Rider weight: 83 kg
- Riding mix of gravel and paved roads
- Mostly riding longer rides (e.g. 1–3 hours)
I’m considering a few upgrades and wondering what order you’d prioritize for comfort:
- Going tubeless
- New saddle
- Suspension seatpost (Canyon VCLS vs Redshift)
- Suspension stem (Redshift)
For those who’ve tried these, what made the biggest difference?
(Separately, I am also looking into clipless shoes for performance. worth the upgrade?)
Thanks!
