Hi all, I'm down in Medford, zone 8b. Wonder how Oakleaf Hydrangea 'Pee Wee', Heuchera 'Citronelle' and Japanes Sedge 'Evergold' will fare in such a location. I've engineered a large planter so that each plant will be in it's own pot yet planted together. I could devise a shade screen for when we hit 90+ degrees.
Help! About a month ago I planted a 5 foot Wissel's Saguaro in a 19 inch square pot × 20 deep. LECA balls at bottom, ground cloth over LECA and up sides of pot. Soil mix of 50% Garden & Bloom potting soil, 30% pumice and 20% Red Hemlock mulch. Now I'm hearing the LECA may not be good for the Wissel's Saguaro. Is this true? Should I repot now?
I purchased this to hang behind and between a Norway Spruce and Golden Lawson, with plans to create a "forest floor" with Tassel Ferns, Brunnera, and Geranium Macrorrhizm. But then I saw it was not breathable. Will this be okay or not?
I'm in zone 8b, Oregon.
Wissel's Saguaro in a 19 inch, cast stone, square planter, 21 inches deep. LECA layer at bottom, ground cloth up sides. Soil: 50% Garden & Bloom potting soil/30% pumice/20% Red Hemlock. Top dress volcanic rock. Medford, OR, zone 8b, on SE side of house. Please, how many and what size emitters?
