Price gouging
At a festival that preaches “eat the rich”, I’m hoping that one of the brick n’ mortar spots is not invited back to future KBPs/ removed from venue. Totally spacing on the name, but it was located NEXT to Leatherbees (it’s NOT Leatherbees)- it was connected to have access to the VIP area for the Kilby Stage and GA.
Friday- his price for chicken fingers & fries combo was posted on the menu board at $14. When the line started to get longer & the more people ordered chicken tenders, the owner came out and changed the price (magnetic menu board) to $15 for tenders and the burgers. He did this in front of the line of people waiting to order since items were in demand. We got our tenders in at $14 and they tasted like dog food, McDonald’s tenders were a better quality.
Saturday- we walked by the booth & saw the magnetic menu board had increased all their prices by $1 from Friday. The owner was outside, so I asked, “hey weren’t the tenders $14 yesterday?” He looked at me like a deer in the headlights and said, “yes and for you today they can be since you noticed.” He claimed that all their strawberry lemonades were buy-one-get-one-free, but no menus or signs indicated that to be true.
Sunday- the dude changed the prices to HIGHER for the menu items in demand!!!! $16 for tenders & burgers. The price gouging here for another dollar or two is fucking ridiculous and doing it for food qualities as bad as it was is criminal.
I couldn’t find name of the spot, but did find the vendors for the state fair at the venue are not allowed to change menu or price or they’re fined lol not sure if applicable to KBP.
Do better
