It's funny how things run better when we're fixing things instead showing off
I never had much opportunity to trade or sell stamps, so I have a huge box of 'duplicates'. I never paid much mind to the actual pre-cancellation city or internal stamp perforations, but are these actual variations or just curiosities. I started digging into my Scott's catalog and found no specific info. This also opened a whole rabbit hole of Scott's defined variations to look for.
Mudor and Vario ( Lighthouse ) both make them, but how safe are they? Is there any way to test these pages?
I recently inherited two collections of stamps. One had mostly used, hinged stamps, which I can deal with. The second, was filled with mostly mint stamps that were mounted in DYI mounts. While it kept the front of the stamp in good shape, many of the stamps were stuck to the black paper inside the mount. How can I remove the stamps from the backing with the least amount of damage? I was thinking of maybe steam while gently tugging the stamp off. Any other ideas? Mind you, I'm not looking to sell these for profit, just fill in the holes in my collection.
