Hello everyone!

First time posting. Im having an issue with my HP laptop and went to try and get it fixed only for the person to tell me it’s the fan (knew it wasn’t), and then tap my laptop to clean the fan. Once I got it back it was still making the same noise.

What’s going on:
For a few years now it’ll make this crunching noise whenever I power it on and have it on. I know it’s some sort of application because it only does it when the computer is on, and it stops making the sound when I mute the computer.

It’s an old laptop that I only use for slight gaming and videos, so if I need to hard reset it I can. I just wanted to see if there was anything anyone knew!
