Norma talking about Anna?

Carefully reading Norma's controversial, but extremely interesting, book, she cuts off contacts with Lyle abruptly in the summer of 1994 (she says she tried to contact and call him but he no longer answered her calls, obviously this is her version which I don't believe).

In the last paragraph of the book, regarding the latest news about the brothers, in the 1994 fall- early 1995, she tells that Lyle had only one friend left, ( Harry, I don't know if she meant cousin his Harry Llanio) who goes to visit him in the company of a woman with" exceedingly long blond hair " (and who always chewed gum). The reference to her long blonde hair immediately makes me think of Anna, famous not only for her beauty but also for her long hair like Rapunzel. Could this be a sly reference to the one who ruined Norma's desire for a relationship with the handsome Lyle?

Paul Mones and Lyle M.

Does anyone know why Paul Mones ( who was the top American expert and attorney for abused teenagers), wasn't hired by Lyle himself or Leslie's team to assist with the defense? Lyle always spoke highly of him and he really liked him ( I think they became also friends) and it looks to me he liked him even more than Michael or Jill. He would have helped the brothers a lot.

Did Lyle have a private answering machine?

Reading Norma's controversial, but very interesting book, she explains that Lyle was equipped with a private answering machine in jail, but it's very strange to me that he had. Do you know how it works, or did it work in the 90s?
