I carved a bowl from maple

I carved it from a ~3x25x9" piece of maple burl. I carved it with an angle grinder, foredom and dremel. Spent quite a bit of time sanding with an orbital sander and hand sanding. Finished with Danish oil

I carved a bowl from maple

The starting piece was ~3.25x9". I used a grinder, foredom, and dremel to carve it out. The dremel was helpful for carving the bottom and the inner walls where the grinder couldn't reach. For the outside I sanded with a ROS, and for the inside I used a 2" drill disc sander. Lots of hand sanding as well. 6 coats of Danish oil to finish

Simple bowl I carved from walnut

I carved it from a 1.5x6x9” block of walnut. I roughed it out using an angle grinder, refined it with a rotary tool using Saburrtooth bits, and sanded with a drill sanding attachment. I cut the outline at maybe 15-20 degrees. finished it with several coats of danish oil

Simple bowl I carved from walnut

fairly quick little project, maybe 6-7 hours. I carved it using an angle grinder and rotary tool (like a dremel) and finished it with oil. I’ll probably give it to my brother
