Wireman as Groundman on Storms.

How's it goin everyone. I'm a Journeyman Wireman who's been on the road up here in New York and I've had some 1249 boys suggesting I should grab my cdl and hit up storm calls since I prefer working a ton of hours at once in between breaks of chillin back home. Got moved to a different part of the jobsite and haven't seen em around so I thought I'd shoot some questions over here since they made the whole thing sound pretty appealing.

How common is it for journeyman wireman to man groundman calls? Especially if it's primarily for storm calls. Do you just sign the books or is there some external source of getting onto a roster, I've seen some conflicting info around that. Any particular knowledge I should brush up on to be effective in the role?

Like I said they made it sound like a pretty good move but I don't know if they were just passin the time with some jaw jackin bout how I could make 10k a week or if it's not actually as legit as they made it seem.

Appreciate the info. Unless I'm just bein a jackass by askin in which case I'll see y'all on the next one.
