Parents/teens

Hi all!

My 15 yo daughter and I are going to both days of warped tour. I’m wondering if there are any other parents and teens who would want to meet? It would be great to get a spot together, especially for bathroom and snack breaks. It would be amazing just to have her meet other teens who are into good music. She's the only cool kid at her school 😎

We are super excited to see:

ADTR
Chase Petra
Joyce Manor (my must see)
Microwave
MXPX (her must see)
Taking Back Sunday
The Menzingers
Sublime
Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
Thrice

Acceptance
Alkaline Trio
Chiodos
Hawthorne Heights
Jimmy Eat World
Origami Angel

One kid hates him, other kid loves him

It's been a year and I’m still regretting bringing home a puppy. I’m a single mom, zero supports, no local dog daycares, two kids, two jobs, and chronic health issues.

My son went through a medically terrible year in 2023-2024 and he wanted a dog. My teenage daughter wanted a cat and has severe OCD. I saw this puppy and literally cried the same way I cried when my kids were born. I wanted to foster him at first, then the rescue pressured me into adopting him. He wasn't trained at all. I've never had a pet in my life. My life was hell for the first few months. I trained him. I did all the vet crap. I got him neutered.

At the bare minimum we do two long walks a day. He's an absolute menace when I don't socialize him every day. But even today after letting him play with another dog for an hour, he just ate a hole through the middle of my bed.

I’m so god damn exhausted and all I want to do is sleep and now I have no bed. He barks through the night if he doesn't sleep in a bed.

I thought bringing the dog into the mix would help with my daughter's anxiety as she loves animals. She hates him. She has full on panic attacks when the hair is on her clothes or in her room. Meanwhile my son is his best friend and still cries about the one time he got loose in the neighborhood last fall. I have done all of the stuff - the trainers, the groups, the board and train. I've tried to outsource, but dog walkers around me are super inconsistent and will flake last minute.

Can someone just tell me what to do? Preferably a single parent?

Do people who rehome dogs still have any relationship with the dog? He's great, I love him, but he needs a family with other dogs and resources. He's some sort of sight hound. 30 pounds, beautiful and loving - but there are so many dogs out there needing homes. I just don't know what to do.
