For a while, I've been rattling around an idea for a series where Calvin investigates the Noodle Incident, having his fantasy world taking on more and more absurd features, until >!he eventually just gets tired and we learn nothing of consequence!<. I figured maybe I'd do it when I got to 1,000 reaction images. Then I did that and figured maybe I'd do it later.

Then, about two weeks ago, Reddit's Robots gave me a three-day ban for "inciting violence" where I was quoting someone else to remark on how what they said was wrong. (I even used the quote function to do it.) It got reversed about halfway through the suspension, but it made me realize that eventually Reddit is going to automod me off the platform, so I'd better get out my story while I can. Something is better than waiting until you think you can make it perfect. Also, without Reddit to occupy myself, I had time.

So I got to it. It's not perfect, but I'm happy with it. I think my two favorite strips are the third, where it goes meta for the first time, and the tenth, where we see the Santa Protest (the signs were fun) and learn Blermo's name. That's the sort of deep lore I'm here for.

I'd definitely tighten up the pacing, though. This easily could have been ten strips, I think. Especially the one where the only joke is the same one Watterson made (the snowmen crossing the driveway and blocking Dad). And I should have included at least Uncle Max, Moe, and Rosalyn. Oh well. Just assume Moe's on the bus, Uncle Max is visiting, and Rosalyn is somewhere.

Investigating the Noodle Incident: Part 1 of 12

In celebration of hitting 1,000 reaction images (and to kill time while I waited for Reddit to reverse my 3-day suspension), I have, through extensive research and deliberations, uncovered the missing 12-part series on the Noodle Incident.

Please speculate on where this is going. The entire series is written, and I want to see if anyone can guess where it's going and how it gets there.
