Surge.

I'm gonna be honest, when I logged into Instagram yesterday and heard the Surge snippet on Monstercat's page I couldn't believe it. That track almost perfectly captures the essence of what made Monstercat so special to all of us. And to top if off with the stars visualizer really gave it even more of a nostalgic feel. You could tell Habstrakt and Lizdek had fun creating this song.

But this release and its reception highlights an important thing. Monstercat was KNOWN for putting out songs like these. These songs that were fun and had personality to them. I think that's what separated Monstercat from the most of EDM labels. You're not going to hear this kind of thing on any other label except for NCS maybe. But my ultimate question just boils down to if Monstercat is turning a new leaf. Are we going to see more of these fun kinds of songs in the future? I think this kind of sound is what WE have needed for the longest time. And this isn't a diss to anyone of course. There are still good songs being released on the label. However, I don't think a lot of them really capture what we were going for originally in the earlier years of the label. I'd love to hear you guys' thoughts on this matter.

And yes, I FULLY acknowledge I am 99% overthinking this.
