How cold does Bolzano and its surrounding area in winter?

I'm a guy who's starting to plan for where to go to university next year.

I'm a very Winter person, and I love that aesthetic of few sunlight, gloomy sky and snow everywhere.

That's why I have been thinking about Sweden, Norway and Switzerland.

But Bozen has also attracted me for its small size, strong local community and how you can be in the skiing slopes in just an hour (Correct?)

I also visited the university this summer, and the city was extremely hot and sweaty.

They told me that "In summer you die of heat, in winter you die of cold", is it true?

How is the weather between November and March?

Thanks in advance!

Alternative Flag of Südtirol - Alto Adige - South Tyrol

I've kept the white and red flag of the County of Tyrol, and put on the ancient Coat of Arms of the medieval House of Tyrol, which went extinct in the XIV Century, since just the shield feels kinda empty I added a variant of the Heraldic Crown for the Archiduke of Austria found on Wikimedia Commons.

Alternative Flag of the Autonomous Province of Trento

I don't like the position and shape of the Shield of the Coat of Arms, despite knowing that was an attempt to reconnect with the Coat of Arms of the County of Tyrol, so I redisigned it, and I think I'm gonna use one of the two to make a customized flag to fly off my balcony, which do you prefer?
