Following my recent defeat to a lady at a local competition, I was wondering why there are men's and women's tournaments at higher levels, and not just 1 world championship?

Unlike some other sports, and similar to Darts the sexual orientation of a competitor shouldn't make any difference. Should it?

Any non sexist opinions gratefully received.
