Long shot, but here goes.

On 28 June, I met a fellow solo traveller in one of Málaga’s hostels and we spent hours talking about politics, culture, careers, machine learning, and life in general.

All I know is that he is a Canadian-Iranian living in Berlin and involved in Machine Learning. We never exchanged contact details, and by the time I went back to ask, he had already left.

Not looking for private information, just hoping this somehow reaches the right person, or someone who recognises the description.

If this isn’t the right place for this kind of post, I’d also appreciate suggestions for a more suitable Berlin subreddit.

On 28 June 2026, I checked out of a hostel in Málaga and spent part of the day talking with another traveller on the rooftop around noon. We covered everything from politics and culture to careers, machine learning, relationships, and life in general.

All I remember is that he was a sweet and smart Canadian-Iranian living in Berlin and interested in interested in Machine Learning. He dropped many hints but I was too slow to pick up on them.

We were both a little shy about exchanging socials, and by the time I worked up the courage to ask for his name or contact details, he had already left for another hostel😞

Perhaps this is simply one of those fleeting travel encounters that remain a fond memory, but I thought I’d leave this here on the off chance that Reddit works one of its small miracles🥹

I’m hoping to reconnect with someone I met while travelling, but I want to do so respectfully and within Reddit’s rules.

We met briefly at a hostel in Spain, had a genuinely memorable conversation, and parted ways without exchanging contact details. I only know a few broad details about them, and I’m not looking to share or request any personal information.
