Just wondering if all of Chilliwack is in the same position?

Looking to buy a used car for my niece but I know absolutely nothing about cars and don’t want to end up with something that dies within a few weeks.
Is there anyone in town that would do an inspection/mechanical check? Not sure how this all works…
