Update to my train wreck training, people are talking behind my back now
This is the part one to this fiasco lmao ^^^
Today I went in clocked in, and stood there for a few minutes because I was nervous about seeing my trainer again.
Then I got the confidence to fully walk into the kitchen where the assistant manager of the restaurant came over to me and basically said I am not allowed to write down orders now, I have to use the toast device. Which is okay- I’m just not fully comfortable with the device.
I was kind of getting in trouble with my trainer standing behind me listening.
After he told me that my trainer talked to me about last night not going well. Which I understand and she also said she timed me for writing down orders vs using the handheld and she said I was faster on the handheld which is cool I’m glad I know that now. (I felt super slow with it.)
She said I had to only use the handheld, I have to follow her for everything, I am not allowed to try and take orders by myself. All understandable things, the only reason I wasn’t doing that last night was because she told me to do some of that stuff.
She was nice sort of, sometimes super passive aggressive, but sometimes nice idk.
I understand why she was upset with this but- I grabbed a guests glass for a refill the wrong way, I touched the top of it when I grabbed it because it was hard not to. She told me not to and when I was refilling the glass I accidentally grabbed it like that again when some water got on me and I was trying to wipe it off. (My bad.)
I used the handheld most of the night and that was all good, I had some training on the computer to do so I went and did that and while I was doing that the other hostess (other as in it’s just me and her as hosts im mainly a server now tho.) she came in and talked to me, was kind of rude to me but it was fine.
After that I followed my trainer around a little bit more, she said we were cut, there wasn’t really any cutwork so I just asked her a few more questions.
She answered them and one of my questions earlier today was how did she get such a good memory? My memory is terrible and I was curious if she had any tips and tricks. She told me she’s always had a good memory. (She’s so lucky I wish I had one lmao.)
Anyways, later I talked to her and while my trainer, hostess, and I were talking she basically said I’ll never make it as a server without a good memory. Which is fair but I can probably get used to it and develop a better memory.
Then she went on about how the other hostess who’s been here longer than me knows all the table numbers, and basically knows how to serve. And it came across like my trainer was mad I was a server before her. I have no control over that.
After that I walked in on the hostess and my trainer I’m guessing talking shit about me? I walked in and my trainer gave me a smile that just kinda told me they were talking about me. I hope you guys understand what I mean lmao.
Then after me and my trainer clocked out I was in my car texting my bf and my brother and while I was there she never came out to her car and I’m VERY sure I was still being talked about, yay.

QUICK EDIT!!! Tonight went well despite all of this, I’m just upset that the environment is getting toxic. I have been nothing but nice to everyone there so I’m just upset lol
