Invited. Unsure what it means.

Long story short, a lifelong family friend has been inviting me to join his lodge for a good few years now. I have no idea what it’s all about, other than he says I’m a good fit. He’s high up within his lodge, something about being a senior something or other. I don’t want to appear ignorant or standoffish with him, so thought best to ask here.

Without being too technical as like I said, I have zero idea what it’s about other than movies, and we can’t trust them. What is it to be a Freemason, and why do you find it works for you. What does being a member entail.

Many thanks.

Waiting to complete

Hey. Wondering how long it took you all to complete once the TL1 form was received.

We’ve been waiting since March for paperwork to be completed, accepted by solicitors etc, and for the house to be available for checks etc.

Thanks.

Survey wait time

Hi there. We’ve had an offer accepted on a house at the end of April. By the first week in May we had the survey done.

Unfortunately the vendors EA is useless so we don’t even know what the effects of the delay. Fortunately we’re not in a up or down chain and theres no mortgage application.

How long did you all wait for survey results? We were told 3-5 days but it’s obviously been far longer. Already 21 days. Thanks.

Hi all. So we’ve just had an offer accepted two days ago. There is no up or down chain, we’re paying cash so no mortgage or loan applications. The owner is moving abroad. I’ve paid stamp duty and some other checks etc. How long is the average purchase under these circumstances? Our previous purchases involved a mortgage so it’s different.

Many thanks.
