I think FedEx lost my Pasta Pass

It was originally supposed to be delivered on Saturday the 15th, between 10:50 and 2:50PM, but later changed to 'By the end of the day". Then, around 5PM that same day the message changed to "Your package is still on the way and we’re actively working to get you a new delivery date." and it's been that way ever since. I've already submitted a ticket, but that was yesterday and nothing has happened yet.

Is there anything else I could do about the missing Pasta Pass?

Is there a reason why "takeaway" is a countable noun outside of the US?

I was trying to look up why British people say "A Chinese" (short for "A Chinese takeaway") when referring to an order of Chinese food, and I very quickly realized that it's because it's a countable noun in some places. In the United States, at least, it would be uncountable or given a specific measurement ("some Chinese" or "an order of Chinese"). Is there a known reason for why this is?

It's just so puzzling because it sounds incredibly wrong to my American ears, and yet it's just how the words are in other places of the world.
