Pending Checkout Disaster This Saturday

I am looking for advice or people who can share similiar experiences and how they protected themselves.

We rented a house for two weeks around the time of the eclipse in Spain. Day 1 check in we see that clothes washing machine in the listing we counted on having is not present.

We called the host he said it was "out for repairs" and it would be delivered later. That took 4 days and the first time we run the machine the pipe behind it starts leaking sewer water into the room. Contacted the host again and he said we must of broke it. No idea how that is possible, I washed some socks (it's a little machine) so I ask him to send a plumber to come check it. The host says maybe someone can come out later the next week, basically when we are almost done with our time. Until then he said don't use the machine, I could wash clothes by hand.

I contacted VRBO customer service to ask what my options were. They opened a ticket and contacted the host, who is now raging that we ruined his reputation with VRBO.

He has now sent me a message in the app saying he noticed we had 5 people in the house, and that was not agreed on so he is going to open a ticket against me too for lying about who was staying at the house. My reservation confirmation email shows the stay is for 5 people so there is nothing wrong there, he is just mad and trying to make trouble.

What can I do at checkout to cover him dreaming up more ways to save face with VRBO by blaming us for things? VRBO already has photos of the flooding.

With his change in attitude I am concerned he will say we did damages, like stole the glass tray out of the microwave or something equally stupid.

Help Needed - Young Gentleman Cat

Last update: Atlas has found a home! I'm a little sad to see him go although happy that he will be in a place where he can continue being Best Cat.
Thank you everyone who took the time to send messages of support and encouragement. I am rereading them to remind myself it's going to be okay.

Update - Thank you all a hundred times over for the love and appreciation sent for Atlas. He has a great sounding family set to pick him up tonight. I'll post another update here and to everyone who expressed interest in giving him a home once he is on his way.

tl;dr **Shy 9 month old cat needs a home ASAP - message me**

I found this guy hiding under a shed a few months back. He was skinny, freezing, and terrified of everything. No tags, no microchip, obviously too young to be on his own.

We call him Atlas. Partially because he spent the first month indoors cramming himself under heavy furniture trying to hide from us.

Best guess is he is 9 months old. Atlas has since been neutered, all shots given, dewormed, flea meds applied, micro-chipped, and fattened up.

He has slowly evolved into a proper cat athough still wants to hide when overwhelmed.

That's where the problem is. While he is a purring, lovable puddle of big kitten where he feels safe, he did not fit in the Kitty Cantina / Spokanimal program. Too noisy = much hiding.

Which would be the same situation for the Humane Society.

**My timeline to get him a home is quickly approaching, we are moving internationally. I need someone who believes in him like I do that he is a good boy who deserves an indoor life of a well loved cat.**

He loves our other two cats who are moving with us. Atlas ues the litter box and designated scratching posts faithfully. Is treat driven and will come find you in case you forgot it is time for 8pm snacks.

Message me if you have options. I will be asking some questions to make sure he isn't being taken for bait or into a situation that will have him outdoors.
