Foliana Food Question (Hell's Wardens book)

I just finished listening to the Foliana interlude in Hell's Wardens towards the end of Volume 6.

I remember in a way earlier chapter that Niers said that Foliana only ate food as a way to warn the victim and that it had no meaningful power. I even remember people in the comments (I check the old reddit chapter threads after i listen to each one) speculating that maybe she did it to make it more challenging so as to level up faster.

However in the brothel interlude chapter she clearly is able to use taste synethasia as some sort of skill to help her find her quarry.

Without future spoilers:

  1. Was Niers lying or misinformed?

  2. Did I remember it wrong?

  3. Or minor plot inconsistency?

Huntsong question about Seraphel's leveling

I am listening to the audiobook of Huntsong in the SoT series right now. A little more than halfway through it. I can't tell if I misheard something, if there was an out of order chronology of scenes or if there was a mistake in the recording or something due to drafts/edits.

I believe she starts the book at lv 18. The night that Seraphel and Cara meet again at the theater, get drunk off expensive liquor and sang in the capital city at her mansion, I distinctly remember Seraphel passing out, leveling up to level 20 Widowed Princess and getting perfect pitch as a skill. Then later in the audiobook it talks about her being level 19.

I would try and go back and find both scenes to confirm but its hard to locate in an audiobook that way. It also seems like a rather lame lv 20 skill for a princess? It would make more sense if it was lv 19 but i am almost positive i heard the class change and lv 20.

I dont want future spoilers about her levels or class just clarification of what she should be right around the time she is in the Spider/shade court for the first time.

Historical Timeline without spoilers?

I have listened to the audiobooks through Witch of Webs and just started the first few chapters of Gravesong. A few times historical dates have been mentioned along with letters ala B.C. and A.D. except using their Innworld counterparts, but as of yet very little is explained about them. I have also heard a few ages mentioned but I only recall "the waning age" specifically. I think there was a dragon one, and selphid one also maybe?

Anyways I would love to see some sort timeline if it explained the history and the naming conventions of the ages and dates but ONLY if it doesnt have spoilers for the content I have not reached yet.

If any exist I would be very grateful to be pointed in the right direction. If its something I will find out later and ruins any mysteries just let me know and I will be patient and keep listening.

Singer of Terandria books before or after Witch of Webs?

Just finished Titan of Baleros audiobook and am thoroughly enjoying this series. I had googled the reading order a while ago and came across a few reddit posts about when to read the SoT books and it seems like the answers are mostly split between "whenever", "before witch of webs" and "after witch of webs".

I would prefer the option that results in the the least amount of one book spoiling the other, or maybe I should say the option that doesnt remove the tension or mystery from the other in any way? Without spoiling anything from either one I would love to read what people think the ideal reading order is now that I am at this junction.

Tears of Liscor question

I am nearing the end of Book 9 (Tears of Liscor) and had a question. Please no spoilers for the end of the book or beyond.

Tyrion's big plan seems to have been in motion for several books now, since before General Shivertale's battle. I am just confused on one thing really. How did his plan make any sense before trebuchets? Before that battle there is no way I know of or has been hinted at that he could have even known trebuchets were an option. Was his plan different before and relied on pure numbers and attrition or did he have another plan to bring down the walls? If its RAFO just let me know but its been bothering me all book. It feels like he had this evil mastermind plan that relied purely on luck/Laken and things he never could have predicted.

Also as I am getting near the end of the book and a battle is looming I was wondering if anyone had a good map of Liscor relevant to the battle? I know the humans are North and the drakes are South but sometimes they mention things being East and West of the city and the goblin door caves being north but I feel like my mental picture of the scene is somehow wrong. For example Tyrion just gave the order to assault the Eastern wall first which makes 0 sense in my head if he is arriving behind the goblins from the North. I would search for one myself but i know spoilers are like landmines.

Safe way to view character art without spoilers?

I am only on Book 5 (Last Light) right now and I know better than to image search character names or view any wiki for fear of spoiler images/art or other information. I saw someone mention a filter for fanart on a site and tried it filtering for book 4 only and near the top I already saw pictures of a certain white Gnoll grown up so I x'd out and considered that a bad idea. Not sure if the filter was flawed or what.

For now I am audiobook only and havent decided what I will do when I get to the end of those and am still far behind written content but I would like to be able to view renditions of the characters official or unofficial at some point without having to fully catch up.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Trying to reconcile revised Audiobook 1 with book 2/3 regarding Persua (small spoilers for those books)

I am very early on in Book 3 (Ryoka and Erin are in Sellim and Ryoka just befriended Evolyth.)

I am aware changes were made to the Bloodfieds in the rewritten/revised Book 1. Being new to the series though I don't actually know what was changed and what used to be there.

I know there are inconsistencies I guess because of this and thats fine but I want to understand what I should think of as "true" at this point.

Ryoka only mentions the wagon incident and never Persua's 2 companions in Book 2 and early on in book 3 I have seen neither mentioned either. No mentioned of literal attempted murder, actual murder of dagger girl, and the fate of Claudeel.

Maybe this will change if book 2 and 3 are ever revised or later on in book 3 but how do I treat things like Ryoka not reporting her to the watch/guild or even treating her like a psycopathic murderer. What should be my "headcanon" for the situation at this point?

Just looking for some perspective as I listen because the interactions and thought processes just dont register correctly.

Apologies for any misspelled names, only downside of audiobooks.

A question about Lyonette and a certain class (volume 2)

I am only on book 4 (volume 2) so I am scared to search the subreddit for this answer for fear of spoilers. Apologies if this is an often asked question or RAFO situation. Also I am listening to audible so my names might be misspelled.

Ryoka, Saliss and Qblech just discussed the max level and cumulative level theory the previous chapter I listened to. It has been established that Ryoka declines levels, and Saliss confirms that while she knew the option to decline levels and classes existed that she never knew why anyone would do so. Then the very next chapter Lyonette is upset that she has sullied her royalty by taking bar maid. Why would she not just decline it?

It just seems like a very weird plot hole and juxtaposed so close to someone else confirming everyone knows about declining classes.

Please no major spoilers and if its RAFO I am happy to do so. It was just bugging me.
