Would you play this variant if I launched in the upcoming weeks? It’s Chess but pieces can only capture the same piece type.

Hey all! I’ve been playing around with this chess variation and it’s definitely an interesting strategy

I feel like I’m learning chess again hahaha. My normal play strength is around 1850-1900 elo

I haven’t seen a variation like this and wanting to see what you all think!

Pawns can only capture pawns, knights capture knights, etc

Imagine this:
* Rasheer at the 3
* Oso at the 4
* Man man at the 5

This allows Mark WillIPlay…uh, I mean, Williams be load managed even more

This takes the pressure (and exposed flaws) off of Oso since now he has help

If at the 2, we use Dillon and / or another perimeter D helper, imagine this:

Sheer chases off the 3 with his length
Oso covers that mid help with his quick athleticism
Both drive the driver into Man Man as bait for rim protection

Let’s develop our existing roster and run it back.
