Soo I tried to get a Mirena inserted and my gyn couldn't get the damn thing in. Supposedly, she has a lot of experience doing IUD insertions. Apparently, my cervix just said NOPE. This was despite trying to insert it while on my period and after using misoprostol to soften my cervix. And after she attempted to dilate my cervix with those damn metal rods 🤮 Anybody else have this problem? I've never had kids and don't ever intend to. I'm about to be 39yo. I don't even need it for pregnancy prevention, since I'm a lesbian.

I can't take combined birth control pills anymore because they interfere with my Lamictal for Bipolar 2. I tried the progestin-only pill and it did nothing to help my heavy periods, which are supposedly due to PCOS/PMOS. Now, I'm having to take iron pills due to low ferritin levels. Idk what I'm going to do, but my gyn (a NP) has now referred me to an actual MD to figure it out.
