All I see is 10 red dots...
Hi all
We're installing some signs along a trail and I was given a zip file containing:
- point.cpg
- point.dbf
- point.prj
- point.shp
- point.shx
Internet search told me those are for GIS and more internet search told me I can download QGIS for free to view them. But additional internet search has not helped me understand what to do next.
So far, I've tried dragging all 5 files onto the open QGIS area/window -- 2 of them didn't open (and apparently 3 of them did?) but all I see is 10 red dots. I assume that's the location of the signs. But how I do see more information? How do I get a surrounding map?
(This is for a quote that's due TODAY -- nothing like last-minute learning/questions, eh?)
