Scared of results

I'm having a colonoscopy on Thursday and I'm terrified. I'm not worried about the procedure or the prep, but I'm so scared they will find something.

Two weeks ago I had awful case of what we think was gastro, I had chills, fever and the most intense stomach cramps of my life, it felt like labour. I was in and out of the bathroom with diarrhoea for about 5 hours straight when at the end I started to see blood. It felt like I was just pooping blood at this stage but it was probably less than it really looked like because it was the end of having diarrhoea. It was probably a teaspoon or so each time I had to go to the bathroom for the rest of that day (maybe 5 times). I ended up going to the ER where they checked me out and said my white cells are elevated and likely a case of either viral gastro of food poisoning causing some irritation. Got sent to follow up with gp a week later. Saw gp last week, did repeat bloods and she advised me all my bloodwork is excellent, my white cells are normal again and my iron stores are really good. She suggested colonoscopy just to make sure nothing else is going on as she's fairly cautious.

I was so lucky to get in for an appt this week as there was a cancellation but I'm just so terrified it will be cancer, I can't stop stressing about it. My bathroom trips have been 100% normal ever since this day and I haven't seen any blood again, but I'm so scared of what might have caused it.

Not really sure why I'm posting, just getting the anxiety out of my system I guess 😭
