I wrote my memoir because people knew the viral moment, but not the person behind it
Most people in Scotland know Here You That’ll Be Right because of The Wee Man video, the jokes, the parodies, and the lines that somehow kept travelling through generations. What most people do not know is what happened before and after it.
I was the voice, writer, and co producer behind the track, but for years the story became bigger than the truth. The song went viral, other people became attached to the fame, money was lost, credit got blurred, and I was left carrying a story that people thought they already understood.
Bolt Ya Nugget is not just about a comedy song. It is about growing up in Glasgow, music, friendship, chaos, addiction, grief, betrayal, survival, and the strange way one daft moment can follow you for the rest of your life.
I wrote it because sometimes the person behind the joke has a much bigger story than the joke itself.
