Development strategy for starting pitchers with 60+ stamina

I'm fairly new to the game and have only played ootp Go, so I'm not entirely sure how it differs from the full game but I know there's no Development Lab and I can't choose coaches.

Usually when I draft or trade for a prospect that has a high stamina rating, I'll shift the stamina weighting way down (sometimes to zero if I'm desperate) in favor of movement and control. I figure most pitchers get raked the third time through the lineup now so I'd rather try to realize the movement and control potential sooner. Plus I know that you can be a pretty effective starter at even a 40 stamina rating.

Is this a sound strategy? What do you do in this regard? Is stamina also tied to injury proness? That might make me rethink this strategy a little...
