awd system fault+ drive mode selection not avalible?
I have a 2016 Ford Focus RS with an intermittent “AWD system fault / service required” and “Drive mode selection not available” warning. the car was originally from Alberta, canada and now it’s in vancouver
It happens randomly while driving and usually clears after restarting the car. There are no obvious drivability issues when it happens, and I don’t get an ABS warning light. The battery has already been replaced, and the engine mounts seem fine with no abnormal shaking. It happened once or twice around shifting/downshifting, but it also happens without shifting, so I don’t think it is directly transmission-related.
the car also have a check engine light on and a P0420 code, it’s reported that the catalyst is below threshold so i don’t know that is related to this problem.
trying to figure out is it the harness or sensors gone wrong
