Alright, I'm ready to admit two things about ER...

  1. Without the sample and Peggy's rapping, the beat for "babygirl" is insanely bland and average until the guitar part. Listening to the instrumental/sampleless versions of the ER songs makes me really appreciate how necessary Peggy's "percussion rapping" is on the album. Some of them literally don't sound complete w/out it.

  2. "Bridges on Fire" ft. Buzzy Lee has grown on me after I've listened to more since the initial release. While I still personally think it's the least good Peg-Lee collaboration ("Don't Put Anything On the Bible" & "i lay down my life for you" are still untouched IMO), it's a good song in its own right. I think originally I'd have given it a 5.5 - 6 out of 10, now I'd give it a 7 - 7.5 out of 10.

It finally happened. TSAR BOMBA has been removed from all streaming platforms, replaced by Valentine's Day Freestyle '26 (Peggy removed the initial release of ER and kept the reissue w/ VDF26 up, so there aren't two versions of ER anymore).

The only official way to listen to it now is via the EXPERIMENTAL RAP [FULL ALBUM] video on Peggy's YouTube. Otherwise, I hope you either downloaded it or know someone who can send you the file (assuming you liked the song).

R.I.P. TSAR BOMBA, 2026 - 2026 (u probably won't be on the DIRECTOR'S CUT now either)

*Also, if you see "Fan's Cut", it's just my rearrangement of the album that I'm gonna have to remake now.

Peggy has once again changed the message at the bottom of the EXPERIMENTAL RAP Bandcamp page. Now it says "撃て、撃て。臆病者たちは恐れている。", which, according to Google Translate is Japanese for "Fire, fire. The cowards are afraid."

I should keep a counter for how many "Peggy is a cornball" type comments this post is prolly gonna get LOL

Or, MAYBE he's teasing a song for the DIRECTOR'S CUT...? (I could be coping high on copious amounts of copium tho)

Edit: As pointed out by u/Express_Recipe_4832, it's "Shoot, shoot", not "Fire, fire" (L Google Translate, i guess)

Which artist that JPEG has never collaborated with before would you like to see him work with most? (Reddit polls r limited to 6 options, so comment an artist I didn't/couldn't include)

Reasons why I picked some of my options:

JID - Long time ago, Peggy posted on Twitter to basically say The Forever Story was great and they he'd love to collaborate but thought JID would find his beats "offensive". JID responded saying he likes Peggy's work and would be down to work together. To this day, nothing has come of it.

Tyler, The Creator: There's an interview from a WHILE back where Peggy was asked his thoughts on Tyler, and he responded by saying Tyler's a good business man and he respects him (and we know based on his comments of praise towards BTS that he likes people with a particular business/work ethic).

Clairo: They're just good friends who are both great artists that haven't actually collaborated yet (or at least, they've never released anything together).

The Weeknd: I believe when Hurry Up Tomorrow released, Peggy posted on his Instagram story that he thought the track "São Paulo" was incredible and said that he "wished he made the beat". This indicates to me that he, at the very least, respects Abel's work and would be fine working with him on sumn.

I'm actually gonna retract an opinion about EXPERIMENTAL RAP...

I previously said that "head" off of ER was a song I wasn't too crazy about in one of my last posts. After listening to it again (and the instrumental only version), I have realized that while the lyrics themselves might not be the greatest (even for Peggy standards), it made me remember how immaculate & experimental the beat is!

So yeah, I no longer consider head mid, it's actually kinda sick. That's it.

Y'know, despite my engineer telling me that I shouldn't post this here (iykyk), after many re-listens & much, MUCH thought and consideration, I have formed my own personal opinion that...

EXPERIMENTAL RAP is just as good of an album as OFFLINE!, SCARING THE HOES & Veteran.

Yes, there, I said it.

Now, is it a perfect album, no. But guess what, no JPEGMAFIA album is. MOST of JPEG's projects have at LEAST one song I either don't like or am not too crazy about:

Black Ben Carson: Black Stacey Dash, FDAU, ALL CAPS NO SPACES
-
Veteran: THIS SONG IS A SAFE SPACE, Libtard Anthem
-
All My Heroes Are Cornballs: Sick, no disease
-
EP!: ROUGH 7!, BALD! REMIX
-
EP2!: Sick, no disease
-
OFFLINE!: NEMO!, THE GHOST OF RANKING DREAD!
-
SCARING THE HOES: Where Ya Get Ya Coke From?, Manic!
-
ILDMLFY: Sick, no disease
-
EXPERIMENTAL RAP: head, ywalmcw,bywnlwcm

I understand that, to some, liking this album makes me a bot and a cornball and a JPEG glazer and a loser (which, it's weird that being that 3rd one is a problem for some on this sub, but whatever). And that is okay, I can live w/ that.

To anyone who actually doesn't like this album or don't feel too crazy about it & have honest critiques of it, that is okay too!

To anyone who's (still) just hating/trolling for the sake of hating/trolling or because Peggy said sumn 'bout ur favorite rapper MONTHS AGO, you suck and ur weird!

That's it (also MODs, when are y'all gonna add an Experimental Rap user filter/tag?)

You get to choose only ONE, which track from Peggy are you bringing out of the vault and onto streaming platforms?

I know there's plenty I couldn't include 'cause Reddit only allows 6 poll slots. If you'd unvault any track not on the list, say it in the comments.

Basically The Fanbase After Peggy Declared Himself King of Experimental Rap:

But fr, if Peggy doesn't sample this as a soundclip on the ER DIRECTOR'S CUT or his next project, it'll lowkey be the biggest missed opportunity of the century IMO.

BOY YOU $HOULD BE GETTIN' MONEY! (Boy You Should Know! Part 2 Verse x $ (Money) Instrumental)

Some mashup I made. It's a lil funky, but the idea for it kept popping in my head, so I just went ahead and made it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

u/Obvious-Ad-73 — 22 days ago

Does anyone know what the "Valentine's Day Freestyle '26" sample is?

I.e. the woman saying "When you call my name, I know, I know that, that"

u/Obvious-Ad-73 — 23 days ago

EWWWWW!!!! These beats from JPEG are so... so... normal. Blegh!!!!!

But in all seriousness, Maxo Kream dropped another song w/ production from Peggy. I wonder if it's gonna be a collab album where Peggy produces every song, or if it's just coincidence that he produced 2 songs on Maxo's upcoming album? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

u/Obvious-Ad-73 — 24 days ago

Does anyone know who Peggy is referring to specifically on these lines from TSAR BOMBA?

Specifically the "I cannot help you, you know what you did | Cut off your hand, that's a slap on the wrist" part. Like, is it someone specific or is he speaking generally?

GUN TO THE BACK OF YA HEAD, NAME EITHER 19 DEVON SONGS OR 10 DEVON BARS!!!!!!!

"FIRST OFF, FUCK BROKE NIGGAS WITH GOLD TEETH AND THE FAT FUCKERS WHO WEAR SKINNY JEANS!"

u/Obvious-Ad-73 — 26 days ago

If I had a nickel for every time JPEGMAFIA released a project that was either hated or underappreciated upon release, starts with the letter "E", has a black & white cover, features him next to one or more women & released two years after his previous critically acclaimed project...

...I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't much, but it's not very ca$hmoney that it happened twice.

Also, notice how ER & EP2! have the cursor on the left & ILDMLFY & AMHAC have it on the left.

(...sry, I was bored & had nothing better to do w/ my time than to make this)

u/Obvious-Ad-73 — 26 days ago

So like, I guess we're never gonna find out what this image Peggy posted to his story last year meant

Thought it might be a teaser for the Denzel Curry collab album, but it seems that's either not happening anymore or it's still in the works.

u/Obvious-Ad-73 — 28 days ago

If you had the chance to meet Peggy in person (at a show, in the street, etc.), and you had enough time to ask ONE question, what would you ask him (BESIDES ANYTHING RELATED TO KANYE, TWITTER OR HIS STORE!!!!!!)

Me personally, I'd ask him if he's still planning on releasing EP2!: DIRECTOR'S CUT one of these days.

Does anyone know why Peggy didn't include "Ash My Blunt on a Suspended License/Don't Ruin That Boy" on Veteran: Director's Cut?

And why did he delete EP II (not to be confused w/ EP2!) which basically just split the two parts of the song into 2 singles? It's honestly one of my favorites from the Veteran era and I wish he'd put it back on streaming, especially since it's already available on SoundCloud anyway.

Here's the link to EP II on Spotify so u know I'm not just making this up LOL. You of course can't play anything, but you can at least see the cover art and the two halves of the song.
