Is the AI Assistant okay?

Hello! I wanted to share some sentiment that u/icecubeinanicecube share through a screenshot. I think since the latest update, the AI assistant has kinda been broken. There's two major problems I noticed. It first off has a really hard time changing and updating things when asked, even in creative mode. As an example, I had to ask it 5 times and switch to creative to get the AI to change the disposition of a set of characters. This wasn't a problem in the past but now it's a major problem

(typed up a whole essay and now reddit decided to cut off 90% of it ;( gotta type everything again)

I'll give an example. I was playing a scenario called Continentia (very good, I highly recommend for a low fantasy "Not Earth but similar" medieval style game). In it, I was playing as a powerful Sultan and I was trying to get the AI to change the disposition of a set of characters I recently saved. The game constantly gave me messages like "I don’t have a disposition-editing tool available in the current controls" or "I don’t have a tool available here to modify NPC relationship values directly." It's never been a problem before in past updates.

The other problem I was facing with the assistant is that it seems like it hasn't been able to access or inference things that aren't explicitly stated. To give a different example from The Elder Scrolls: Tamriel (Also highly recommend), I was playing as a character who worships Hircine. In the past, I would've been able to ask it things like "how does Mara view me" or "How would the dark brotherhood view my actions" even if I didn't interact with a character named Mara (She's a Goddess in the lore, for reference) or interacted with the Dark Brotherhood (a faction, for reference). Now though, it constantly gives messages like "The current world records do not define a specific view that xxx would have"

I think what's most frustrating is that a lot of times, the AI assistant seems to not understand what I said 2 messages ago, and so I end up having this weird situation where I'm having to repeat things I've said over and over again. It kind of creates this loop of:

"would you like me to change it?"

"Yes"

"I can't"

"Why not"

"You're right, I can"

"Then do it"

"should I?"

"Yes"

"I can change a thing you wanted me to change, what did you want me to change?"

I don't wanna leave this purely as a complaining message. Something I think has been a huge improvement these past few changes has been the AI image generation. I think it's been amazing lately. There's a tiny issue I'm facing where Sometimes when the story generates new characters, it uses the images of already generated characters, making kinda funny and awkward situations where a baker woman is using the image of a fat merchant prince from a few turns ago or a Lord is using the image of a farmer. I don't mind it too much though since the AI assistant seems to be really good at fixing that.

I know this has been such a wildcard of a post so I understand if this feels painfully out of place. I was hoping if in the future you'd find a way to allow the AI assistant to delete mistake characters. I had a situation for example where in Narrative Crusader Kings 3 (also recommend) I made a mistake and spelled a character's name wrong. The AI eventually made a new character with my spelling instead of who I meant. I tried to have the AI delete the character, but the most it would do is remove the character. My workaround was to have the character killed but sometimes even that doesn't work

I know you'll are working hard and I know people can sometimes sound more mean on the internet. Hope you guys can fix this soon

Edit: I forgot there was a major issue I didn't do a good job mentioning

Ill use Continentia as an example again. I was trying to ask the AI things like religious and cultural demographics. The scenario author has put in a tremendous amount of work on making things like a map and traits that describe things like your social status, culture, religion, etc. In the past, the AI knew without me having to explicitly ask what the world was like through those traits. It knew for example that the world has 3 major religions of thr Qasrian Faith, the Solarian Church and the Eastern Rite, and that there is a Kingdom of Navarreth and Kingdom of Valenne and other details. Even if I didn't in the story ever interact with say the Kingdom of Aurelmark, it could use what the author made to inference what the situation would be like. I could ask "What's the religion in Aurelmark" and it would tell me. Now it'll first be confused by "Aurelmark" because I didn't call it "Kingdom of Aurelmark" and then it'll say "The current world records do not define a specific view that The Kingdom of Aurelmark would have"

I'm not the most technical person and I don't know if I'm doing a good job describing things, but I'm hoping this will help

Some questions and thoughts

Hello! I found AiD about a month ago and got hooked enough that I decided to get the first level subscription. I had some codes for Voyage I wanted to share

(Didn't want to break the rules so I'll post in the megathread)

I also am having so much fun with voyage. It's genuinely such a fun little choose your own adventure tool. I'm playing the Elder Scrolls Scenario where I'm playing as a Forsworn secret agent that somehow accidentally got herself into being one of the most successful businesswomen in Western Skyrim and is having a mental crisis about falling in love with a Nord from Morthal. It's the sort of stuff I dream of in games. I think I enjoy a bit of balance between AiD and Voyage. AiD is the place where I can weave a story I want. I lack the words to describe it, but I see myself as the storyteller in AiD. I give it the vibe of what I want, the story will go with it, while still giving me some suggestions that can change up the plot. With Voyage I feel more like a omniscient participant. I can't type "I beat the shit out of Kaelen" (AiD really loves the name Kaelen from what I've seen) and suddenly expect to beat the shit out of him. The story narrator and the voicelines, along with the map and the character portraits I think (even if they sometimes get really wonky) adds so much character to it all. "Kaelen" in AiD is a character that constantly mutters what I say back, but "Kaelen" in Voyage will be some sassy voiced character who does the AI equivalent of asking the level 81 full decked out dragonborn character if he's missing his sweetroll

My very, VERY unplanned and unorganized ramblings aside, I had a small question. I read the patch notes that said that credits can be used to extend voyage scenarios (hope I'm using the right terminology here). I was wondering if someone can help me find where I can do that? I've checked the usage settings that pop up but it doesn't show it from what I can see

I also wanted to ask in general what people who are using the first tier subscription (the Journey sub) as their AI of choice. I've been using the green deepseek and I think it's been doing great. I was playing the Villain academy scenario and it gave me some great stuff but it somehow managed to both remember things from a long time ago and forget a lot more recent stuff. is there any recommendations out there?
