Alternative to Sprinkles?

My partner is vegan and would ask for Sprinkles vegan red velvet cupcakes for every birthday. That time of year is fast approaching and I’m not sure what to do now that Sprinkles is gone. Any good recommendations? Also not LA, but a bonus if you know of any in South OC?

Hello,

I’m based in the UK. I have worn glasses since I was a baby. I have a strong prescription (long-sighted) but JUST shy of some help from the NHS for lenses (not they offer much). I also have an astigmatism.

I tried to order glasses online but the was an issue with my prescription so I had to get it reissued, however the optician wouldn’t do this and retested (I wasn’t due) and he asked why I wanted my prescription reissued. When I told him I wanted to buy glasses online, he went on a rant about how I have a complicated prescription and I can’t buy glasses online because I need thinned lenses and they won’t get the PD right and if they get the prisms wrong I could have headaches for life.

The problem is, the lenses are SO expensive, even from cheap online stores, and so I don’t want to have to pay for expensive frames as well. When I looked at buying glasses in store, it was £700, as opposed to £200 from an online retailer.

The online retailer got me to use a website which uses AI to find your PD.

Is the optician right? Is it too risky to buy online? How am I supposed to afford to see?!

Thanks in advance for your advice.
