A bit sad I missed/forgot her birthday yesterday (July 4th), but regardless here's a post here and now.

Since last being seen with Jenna in Scream VI, Melissa has had a few projects come out;

>!Knew I was forgetting something.!<Abigail (2024) - "After a group of criminals kidnap the ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, they retreat to an isolated mansion, unaware that they're locked inside with no normal little girl."

Inhabit (2024) - "Follows a young woman who moves into a rundown apartment complex for a fresh start but is terrorized by bizarre occurrences and comes to believe she's being targeted by a possessive supernatural force."

Your Monster (2024) - "After her life falls apart, a soft-spoken actress finds her voice again when she meets a terrifying, yet weirdly charming monster living in her closet."

The Copenhagen Test (2025) - A first-generation analyst realizes his brain's hacked, allowing access to his senses. Stuck between the agency and hackers, he acts normal to reveal the culprits.

And perhaps most notably, she has made her live action debut on broadway with Titanique, this past March (2026)!

'It's All Love' Chapter 2: Keep the Faith - Passage 4 Overview

https://preview.redd.it/r9goqhzgofbh1.png?width=1350&format=png&auto=webp&s=467bfedbdaeff6854daeb02d84e4a6cd84a9a44e

Another longer passage today—but it’s in quite good spirit, declaring in openness to love each other regardless of differences. Also Jenna’s words about the state of the world (or at least country) being in conflict is sadly true half a decade later, for as far as we have come some insist on rolling back down the hill of acceptance.

Yet the encouragement to experience new perspectives is one of the strongest I believe she has brought forth in the book, even if it might bring conflict it could lead to a new understanding.

'It's All Love' Chapter 2: Keep the Faith - Passage 3 Overview

>!Decided to sort of nix the idea of an analysis, I don't dislike what I've done thus far but I do fear its devolved more into my personal thoughts and reactions than a proper analysis. Maybe near the end I'll do a more proper analysis!<

https://preview.redd.it/92paom40r4bh1.png?width=1352&format=png&auto=webp&s=62f588c216812ad633ed31bfb46eca7c909ba687

I like this passage and its phrasing quite a bit personally, it bridges the gap I’ve had from truly appreciating the last few passages. Of course I do endlessly respect the choice of prayer as a mantra or application of faith, whether it be by Jenna or anyone else.

But the way she frames it within this passage—more of a reflection upon the world as it is around you and as you wish it to be, well lets just say that's more neutral in all the right ways in my opinion.

'It's All Love' Chapter 2: Keep the Faith - Passage 2 Analysis

https://preview.redd.it/ngltgrb2pyah1.png?width=1352&format=png&auto=webp&s=1b7c5f22c7c880f6b91d36c2cd5dcbcd915cf357

A bit of a heavier handed passage this time around.

I do still recognize and agree with the message (and regardless I admire the path that Jenna has gone through) in recognizing such power within prayer as an application of faith.

It can be all too easy to become more detached, or at least pragmatic/utilitarian in the "usefulness" beyond the mental relief and perspective prayer could bring.

I, myself, have never been apt for the sake of a "greater plan" at work. Perhaps there could be—perhaps the point isn’t to see the final result and trust in the process (or mindset that there will be a tomorrow to appreciate how far one has come); yet to me the deeper motivations can sprout from the idea that there is not a grand plan, while mindfulness and faith can breathe longevity into a person they cannot maintain the body in perpetuity.

'It's All Love' Chapter 2: Keep the Faith - Passage 1 Analysis

>!(Quite the mechanical title.)!<

https://preview.redd.it/1flkm146rrah1.png?width=1798&format=png&auto=webp&s=e3c4b1f10a0c32d8a38daee44a022fbe0588710e

Chapter 2 begins with a little "lesson" regarding a perspective on faith as a means of connection, opposed to being a vehicle for specific practices.

Jenna presents it in such a way that it affirms as a basis of being, belief—much like love, does not need to be formatted through an identifiable front. It can be personal or personalized so that it can best serve you, the person that is doing the believing.

I think this passage is... "good." I struggle with the behavior of belief a fair bit, or more so perhaps faith in of itself without seeking a static answer. Ambiguity can be good, healthy even—yet it can serve as a door always ajar where the answer can be simply found if it is open and shut.

Belief is good. Faith is good. It is good to not need the answer.

Analysis of: Jenna Ortega's 'It's All Love' Chapter 1: Live With Love

Preface
As of January 5th 2021, Jenna Ortega authored her first and as of now only book; at 18 Years Old mind you, and before most of her more recognized rise into stardom. There are a multitude of reasons a post such as this has been on my bucket list for a while now; the largest being that it paints a perspective of Jenna that I am sure a lot of the subreddit has come to know.

As such, I encourage any and everyone to read the book for yourself. It is a very experiential piece that can help provide a fresh experience, especially within contexts of fandoms and fanbases that are quite expansive and expressive (Wednesday, Scream, Jenna herself) where for better or worse every statement or piece of information spreads like wildfire.

The plan for this post is to provide an analysis or at least overview (See the text attached to each of the images) of the passages of ‘It’s All Love’ Chapter 1: Live With Love and to post an additional passage for the next 89 days.

I ask for anyone and everyone to give their own opinions, analysis, and thoughts regarding the passages.

One thing that I do find vastly intriguing by this opening is the dichotomy between the more... incandescent themes Jenna presents as an idealized perspective. Throughout most of the chapter she subtly informs us about the different emotional roadblocks she has come across through her personal and professional lives, but despite that she maintains a clear minded goal that despite hardships both realized and simply as potential. There is good to be found, and that we should be grateful for the privilege of what we can find along the way of discovering ourselves.

This passage speaks to me in an interesting way of cadence and perspective. Perhaps this is a bit more of a... personal analysis, opposed to more of an objective one; looking back at myself I see quite a bit of this behavior. An almost compulsive need to pacify an atmosphere, even if it is just among family or friends. What interested me wasn't that I came to the same conclusions as Jenna, in fact I fear more of the opposite happened; I didn't fear being a \"suck-up\" I more reveled in that as a mainstay within my identity of giving reason to a relationship opposed to allowing it to breath and mature on it's own. Anyway... I do think Jenna's framing of the behavior is a good way to adapt, seeing something that you initially view as negative in a positive light is a good sign of maturity.

I don't have an abundance of things to say about this passage; I think the message is quite reminiscent of a lot of the more enlightened views regarding relationships nowadays. I think relationship culture in of itself is in a more evolutionary state, it is easy to find safety in a lack of understanding and relying on baser instincts regarding attraction or infatuation. But despite... or even in spite of that fact I think Jenna's discussion on seeking someone who can fulfill oneself more is in of itself something to strive for; even if it seems impossible, or improbable. Also not to say that someone should wait for the \"perfect\" conditions before establishing a relationship; more so, just don't get lost in the sauce of love.

This passage resonates quite a bit regarding the... understanding of relationships in a vacuum. The idea of a 'Soul Mate' is very appealing in abstract; someone who can complete you or provide coverage in ways that you personally cannot, whom you also share a strong personal connection with. Personally, I still \"long\" for a more definitional Soul Mate of being a singular person, but Jenna's ideal within this perspective is far more realistic to achieve and maintain... let alone find.

This passage is quite profound, in it's own way. I find the idea of moving on to be quite difficult personally, stagnation is easy to find attractive in of itself when there are definable moments to cling towards. But as the passage continues it makes the valid point that even if it is important to grieve in your own time; you still have a life to live. You can create new memories, new relationships, or experiences. You will likely grieve again, but that is why it is important to create these new memories in the first place.Show less

To get personal in my analysis once more, I find this passage to be particularly memorable.I myself never really experienced the same collapse in a friendship; albeit I was a good bit more selective and didn't really approach people and relied on them contacting me first. The idea regarding conflict changing how someone evaluates their true friendships is quite smart though; \"What doesn't destroy me, makes me stronger\" and all that.

This passage, more than any of the others does speak to me; both in it's simplicity and it's message.Isolation is a true call of the void, the desire to simply pull in as much negativity as to not impact those around us. Yet that also can invalidate those around us; the desire to \"protect\" them can be strong sure... but would it not be natural for those that we care about to respond in kind? Despite it's brief nature I think this passage strikes at the heart of Jenna's broader message of the book... That if you want something, whether it be love or happiness; it needs to sprout outward from yourself first.

Largely similar to the previous passages conclusion message, it is important to trust those close to you. Both with being truthful, expecting them to treat you with the same honesty and trust that you give to them; but also to be able to handle information on an uncertain scale. Maybe someone would react badly to a piece of information, maybe they wouldn't. You can make an educated guess, but at the end of he day you will be forced to choose something; whether to trust someone or not.

Similar to passage #3, I believe this to be a good rule for life in general \"regardless\" of love.People, can be exciting. They can be fascinating. They might be able to make or break your world as you know it. But that should not be all there is to one's understanding. Love should exist as a product of mutual connection, and it should be evaluated as such in a vacuum free of the cravings towards infatuation.

At first sight is an interesting phenomenon, one that I fear I haven't quite ever picked up on in the same way. First word, or first breath... \"maybe\" but first sight feels special in its verbiage. One thing that is common in a lot of this first chapter and passage #3, is the idea that for someone like Jenna it can be \"easy\" to find qualities attractive in a vacuum; even before she gets to know who someone truly is. Staying rooted in reality is quite a respectable quality, especially for someone to experience as an evolution of themselves; such as Jenna has seemed to in this stage of her life.

This passage more than most others I am curious on how Jenna from 2021 would compare her beliefs 5 years later in 2026. I'd imagine she stands by what she wrote, but it is an interesting ideology that seems present throughout; that optimism and positivity are inherently powerful and important to her. That despite possible inclinations to be more pessimistic or overtly cautious, she is drawn to the hopeful; is quite touching.

It's an interesting philosophy to almost \"hate\" the idea of using the word hate.I do admire the idea though; in a separate issue I have been quite crass in the past, and I have tried to change the methodology of my vocabulary to move away from such easy routes of communication. Oddly... for no real reason. Just for the sake of improvement; which I think is a good crux of Jenna's argument regarding \"hate,\" if it becomes second nature to delve into simply claiming hatred towards anything you dislike (even if its for a valid reason) it begins to blend into a lot of similar classification. There was one \"argument\" I saw presented in a different topic about where an individual person; Loves more things, or Hates more things. The discussion developed into the conclusion that people do love more things, at least under the guise that they exclude things that are universally hated. For example, \"hating\" parasites shouldn't count as a hate because beyond possible scientific or biological inquiry it isn't something someone would love. Thus it is not worth the breath or effort to spread hatred towards it for being in abstract.

With this concluding passage of chapter 1, I really want Jenna to write another book in retrospective; or even just have the spare time and freedom to create a review. Change is an interesting phenomenon, in the past I would have likely \"resented\" change. Not in the sense I would ever regret becoming a better or even simply different person... just in the sense that things don't need to evolve in order to be \"good.\" For example, education; in the past I believed I would simply be happy learning forever. Not changing, just maintaining the status quo of learning for the sake of learning. Yet as graduation got closer and closer, change did occur, knowledge had more practical limits within my mind. This can apply to any different field, namely keeping the topic on Jenna; acting and being cast in different roles. She may desire more unique palates or harder roles that only she could handle in a certain way; juxtaposed with some fans wanting her to remain the same way indefinitely, unaware that even if her general casting pattern slows or evolves its not like her past roles, or interviews, or statements become null.
