Hi! My family and I are heading to chincoteague island for july 4th! Yay! We have a lot of things planed like beach yoga, the artisanal market, the CVFC fireworks:)

I was wondering if there are any beaches nearby that people recommend. Is Assateague Beach the best one?

Additionally, we will only be there for one full day and a few hours on our driving diving days. I'm wondering if it is worth it to do a boat tour for wild life and pony sighting, or if we could get just as much out of going around Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. How should we prioritize our time? We'd love to spend some time at the refuge for sure and maybe walk some trails.
