Analysis of the two trailers so far (trailer spoilers if you care about that)
Based on the teaser and the trailer that was released today, it looks like we'll be getting:
>!- A sports coupe challenge: Jaguar XK (Thomas), Nissan 350Z (James), Mercedes-Benz CLK AMG (Francis)!<
>!- Hypercars: Hennessey Venom (Francis), Pagani Utopia (Thomas?), Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (James?). There’s also a shot of the Mustang GTD and the ZR1 in the teaser, so maybe those two are in a different challenge entirely. This is a difficult one to figure out.!<
>!- Something with the hosts’ personal cars: Honda Jazz (Francis), Toyota Century (James), Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior (Thomas)!<
>!- A kei car challenge: Autozam AZ-1, Suzuki Alto Works, a third car that isn’t shown.!<
>!- Volvo 240 (Thomas), Ford Crown Victoria (James), Lexus LS400 (Francis). Seems like some kind of durability test.!<
>!- Sports cars in the desert: E46 BMW M3 convertible (Thomas), 996 Porsche 911 (James), Nissan Pulsar GTi-R (Francis)!<
>!- Random other stuff: Prodrive P25, an old Honda Civic crashing, a Tesla being flung through the air, something with bicycles, something with boats!<
>!It looks like they'll be sticking with the same format as the last few seasons of The Grand Tour, without a studio audience or many (if any) individual road tests. A lot of stuff in the trailers looks like it was shot in Japan, but with several different groups of cars. So maybe we're getting a Carnage a Trois-style special focusing on Japanese cars?!<
>!Any other thoughts/predictions!<
