Ren- where has this been???
37 years old and have had a hard time finding musical artists that I can connect to or even just enjoy over the past decade or so. I know I'm late to the party but I just discovered Ren. I stumbled upon "Hi Ren" and was amazed, gutted, and uplifted all within 9 minutes just like everybody else that sees it. I had read all the comments praising him and had a very hard time listening to another song of his because I was SURE it was a one off. One song that was very well thought out and executed but no way I'll enjoy the rest of his music that much. Then I dug in and I have been blown away. Its all good. The Inpatient album be did with Chris Webby is dope as fuck all the way through. He can play anything you put in front of him and he does it at a high level. His lyrics are deep and meaningful while keeping an extremely pleasant and catchy cadence and rhyme scheme. Not to mention all the busker stuff he did with The Big Push.I'm kind of in awe at everything he brings to the table. I've had this old man thought process of "all good music has been made and the real idea of it being an art form has been lost", enter Ren. Music needed this dude. We needed this dude. I'm having so much fun going through his catalog and discovering all this new amazing music I didn't know existed.
