Is Denton Scanner full of hot air?
They posted a long-winded message about taking out emergency protective orders yesterday against commenters and sending a cease-and-desist that was supposedly written by "legal counsel." It is one of the most sus C&Ds I've read, for multiple reasons. I went down a rabbithole and have been unable to verify some of their claims. This is laughable. Here are a few weird things:
I cannot find a Denton Scanner or SOS Radio LLC on the Texas comptroller website. They claim they have a legal entity, but I don't see it.
They claimed they filed EPOs yesterday. Don't see any on the Denton court records site. I suppose that maybe(?) they filed in a different county, but again...sus.
I've never seen a C&D drafted by an attorney that was signed by the client instead.
"Internal corporate security division." Of a Facebook page? Lol ok.
Law enforcement won't help you determine those 37 identities for civil claims.
I could go on, but you get the gist. They are unhinged.
