My boy is terrified of loud bangs, especially gunshots, which can be a problem in rural Scotland, when you are surrounded by shooting estates. Today I let him choose where we went and a wood that Astraeus previously refused to go due to hearing gunshots, was where he decided he wanted to go. He was very brave.

Astraeus is struggling with the reality that it is now not uncommon for the thermometer to read 30°C on the west coast of Scotland during the summer.

Lots of early walks, stock ice cubes and cool mats are helping, but big A is not a sun worshipper.
