A public message to perfume wearers in the park
After years of sedentary life and smoking more than a pack, I decided to go for a brisk walk this evening.
With my respiratory system strained and gasping for air during mid-walk jogging, I encountered an unending tunnel of perfume which was really irritating.
On normal days, without a strained respiratory system and screaming lungs and heart, I would have appreciated the perfume but in that moment it felt awful. It got me thinking whether other runners, hikers, and joggers feel the same. I'm pretty sure they do. Because of the heightened breathing during exercise, people inhale a lot more of your perfume than someone just walking past you on the street would. That has to be irritating for people with sensitive lungs or allergies. People go to parks for fresh air or cardio. Not to inhale tunnels of perfume. So please have mercy on us.
